Bhaichung Bhutia: The former captain of the Indian football team, Bhaichung Bhutia, fielded by the Trinamool Congress is all set to contest Lok Sabha elections 2014 from the Darjeeling constituency, West Bengal. He has promised to work for the development of the hills and serve people with honesty.

"It is a great honour for me and I am grateful to Banerjee for giving me this opportunity to contest the general elections. I hope to work hard for the people with honest and transparency," the Sikkim boy told IANS.
The football star also hoped that if he wins the elections, it would also help him to work for the development of sports in the country. "I would also like to work for the development of sports in the country. It would be a great opportunity to work on several issues," he added.

Sugata Bose: Nominated as a Trinamool Congress candidate for the Lok Sabha polls, renowned historian and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grand nephew, Sugata Bose said, he would lay special emphasis on education as part of his campaign. The 57-year-old Harvard University professor, who has authored Netaji's biography "His Majesty's Opponent" iterated that he agreed to join politics in view of the present situation in India. "My campaigning will be at various levels including welfare activities for the Jadavpur residents. And since I am from the field of education, I will stress on education and I can make a difference there," Bose said.
