Fremont Mayor speaks at FIEG event

Fremont: Bob Wasserman, the Mayor of Fremont spoke at the Fremont Indus Entrepreneurs Group (FIEG) event, conducted to help entrepreneurs increase business by networking. While Wasserman was the Chief Guest at the event, the keynote address was delivered by Sanjeev Ukhalkar, Director of Engineering at Cisco, and Pad Swami, President of Urpan Technologies. The FIEG event was conducted on September 10, 2009 at the Golden Peacock restaurant. Around 70 to 100 members from varying fields, including software engineers, web developers, doctors, travel agents, realtors, and several others attended the two hour event. The FIEG members include upcoming entrepreneurs as well as successful entrepreneurs who have thriving ventures ranging from $1 million to $20 million in annual revenues. At the event, entrepreneurs were given a 10 minute slot to talk about their company, products and services. The 'gup-shup' meet which was free of cost, was followed by a small Chai-Samosa party at the restaurant. FIEG, which has been created to foster networking opportunities amongst entrepreneurs at Fremont, expects to meet once a month. The group had previously met on 17th July to give a formal structure to the association.
