Founders-as-CEOs: Did Zuckerberg Mess up Juggling Both?
Companies that did well with founder CEOs :
1. Apple: Steve Jobs returned to save his company and transform it into a stock-market superstar.
2. Amazon: Jeff Bezos with a long vision for his company has helped the ecommerce giant.
3. Google: There has been a great positive response to Larry Page returning to the CEO spot at Google. And the search giant has found to be doing pretty good.
4. MySpace and AOL: The companies were found to be horribly mismanaged after the CEOs were forced out.
This discussion can go on forever with founder-as-CEOs idea lovers and critics arguing over Zuckerberg’s fate. But this decision is totally on the subject of discussion himself who holds the majority of shares in the company and also controls the board of directors. It will be interesting to see if turns out to be Apple-style success story or a RIM-style failure tale.
