FOSTeRA zeroes Thanjavur as the rural BPO destination

Chennai: In an effort to promote rural areas in terms of being BPO destinations, a Tamil Nadu based rural BPO organization Fostering Technologies in Rural Area (FOSTeRA) zeroed on 'the rice bowl of the state' Thanjavur. After establishing a center at Krishnagiri, the company has opened a BPO center at Periyar Maniammai University intending to make it a rural BPO destination.
The center shall capacitate 25 employees in the line of data entry jobs and voice - based services. Ensured a pay upto
3000 per month, students can engage in three to four hours of work. Hence, for a proper training of these students, National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) and Adventity will conjointly offer their help. Infact, as part of a Nasscom delegation companies such as Wipro, Syntel, Hewlett-Packard, Cognizant, HOV Services and U.S. Technology had recently visited FOSTeRA.
As reported in Business Standard, promoted by Santhosh Babu, Managing Director of Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (Elcot), FOSTeRA shall also promote consulting services through taking up jobs from the IT/ITeS companies and allocate it to various colleges. And it has motivated many districts to tow the lines of it, as it stands as a model for rural development. Currently functioning in Krishnagiri the organization handles police data management work for the district and base survey work for the Karnataka government.
