‘Indian Idol’ is a replica of the ‘Pop Idol’ from U.K. and ‘American Idol’. It is a singing competition started in India on 2004 followed by 5 seasons, hosted by Mini Mathur, Aman Verma, Hussain Kuwajerwala, Meiyang Chang, and Abhijeet Sawant. Till date the show was judged by Anu Malik, Farah khan, Sonu Nigam, Javed Akhtar, Udit Narayan, Alisha Chinai, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kailash Kher, Salim Merchant, Sonali Bendre. ‘Pop Idol’ has inspired 42 territories to follow them by making the same reality show.
