Bangalore: The grave financial crunch in the West triggering an inclination of the top foreign B-school graduates towards the Indian companies for job opportunities. Though the country too is in the clutch of the slowdown yet, the companies are expected to grow by seven percent. The graduates are exploring the cities to network with the companies and create partnership opportunities for employment. Basically, it's the alumni from the top B-schools in U.S. and Europe, who are interested in pursuing a career in entrepreneurship, strategy and information technology, are opting for the Indian ground. Confirming the trend, President of the Harvard club of India and Asia Surat Singh says, "In the last few weeks I have received numerous emails from Harvard alumni looking for jobs in India. Surprisingly, more Americans than Indians have e-mailed me. So, I have been trying to get them in touch with Indian alumni who are in key positions now." Infact, as reported by Hindustan Times, a team from Chicago's Graduate School of Business visited Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore last month on an 'entrepreneurial immersion' trip, in order to build up networking opportunities in the Indian job market. There are also instances where the B-schools are reaching out to the former graduates employed in India, like Paris-based INSEAD is networking with the alumni employed at Lehman Brothers in Mumbai. "India is definitely an important destination in this alumni network," said Edward Buckingham, an Associate Director of Executive MBA programs at INSEAD. Giving an edge to the effort, Barcelona based business school IESE, is organizing events for Indian and non-Indian alumni who want to know more about India. The B-school has begun with a program called 'Inside India', which shall be a platform for the graduates to interact with the industry players and consumers in India.
