New Delhi: Flag Telecom, a subsidiary of Reliance Communications and one of the largest undersea cable companies, Tuesday announced its strategic tie-up with Britain's leading network operator Vanco.
"Vanco provides significant enhancement to our already extensive cable network, fulfilling the reach that our customers are looking for. This agreement provides Flag and its customers access to a further 81 countries, allowing us to extend our network to over 100 countries across the globe," Punit Garg, president of Flag, said in a statement.
Last year, the Anil Ambani-promoted Flag Telecom announced an investment of $1.5 billion to lay 50,000 additional km of undersea optic-fibre cable.
"Our customers will benefit from Flag's strong coverage, especially in India and the Middle East, which are among the fastest growing markets in the world," said Allen Timpany, chief executive of Vanco.
Vanco is selected by the world's largest organizations to provide strategic network solutions. Some of its popular clients are Accor Hotels, Avis Europe, British Airways, Continental, Ford Motor Company, IBM/Lloyds TSB, Siemens, Pilkington and Virgin Retail.
