First Products Of These Major Corporations Looked Like This
#6. SPC-1000
Manufacturer: Samsung
Release Year: 1982
The South Korean multinational conglomerate company, Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-Chull, initially as an industry set to explore various platforms that includes enterprises, insurance, securities and retail. In 1982, Samsung launched their first personal computer which was a Z80- based home computer. The system was built-in BASIC, which was written by Hudson soft in Japan. This machine was made available only in Korea. One of the most interesting features that this machine possessed is that it had ‘ILP’ button on the left as it enables the machine to load new O/S from the pre-loaded tape recorder. The SPC-1000 offered double-sided, double density floppy disk drives. Although this was Samsung’s first product, it rather flopped in the market as it had poor display capabilities and the cost of the FDD unit was so high that the customers couldn’t afford.
