Bangalore: In order to ensure maximum user privacy, Facebook has pulled up its sleeves to tighten security by introducing two new features to enhance secure accounts. The two new features will be the one time passwords and remote logout, reports Nachiket Mhatre of Techtree.com. The one time password will ensure security for people who access Facebook from cybercafes. This feature will serve upto a great extent in India where a large chunk of users access internet from cyber cafes. This feature which was restricted to U.S. only will now be extended to India. The one time password or the temporary password can be accessed by sending an SMS. After that, a temporary password will be received which will expire after twenty minutes. The remote logout, which will sign you off from Facebook seems to be another interesting feature to ensure security. This will be useful during those times when one logs into their Facebook account and forgets to log out. Experts from Sophos, an IT security firm, feel that one time password still exposes users to security risks. "If you believe a computer might not be secure in the first place, why would you use it to access personal accounts such as Facebook? A temporary password may stop keylogging spyware, giving cybercriminals a permanent backdoor into your account, but it doesn't stop malware from spying on your activities online, and seeing what's happening on your screen," said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos.
