Entrepreneurs Who Suffered From Mental Illness
Fremont: Many have wondered what goes on in the minds of the people who go on to start successful companies. The thoughts, feelings, emotions and urges pushing a founder toward success are so drastic there are no words to describe the experience. The question arises, are these normal? Technology innovator like Steve Jobs was also claimed to be suffering from bipolar disorder, which was one of the reasons for the success of his company. Henry Ford
The founder of Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford was also one of the victims of the Great Depression Era. In the late 1930s, Ford suffered a series of strokes. He became increasingly senile and was more of a figurehead. After the death of Edsel Ford, he took resumed the charge of the company, but his mental strength was fading fast. The company was controlled by a handful of senior executives led by Charles Sorensen and Harry Bennett.
