The American film actor and entertainer whose film, television, and stage appearances span nearly his entire lifetime has wedded eight times, Mickey Rooney got lucky on his last marriage to Jan Chamberlin in 1978 which has lasted for more than 30 years which is longer than his previous seven marriages combined.

He has been married to Ava Gardner (1942–43), Betty Jane Rase (aka B.J. Baker) (1944–48), Martha Vickers (1949–1951), Elaine Devry (1952–58), Carolyn Mitchell (1958–66), Marge Lane (1966–67), Carolyn Hockett (1969–75) and finally Jan Chamberlin (1978–present).

In the 1950s and 1960s, he was often the focus of comedians' jokes for his supposed incapability to stay married.
