Bangalore: European Aeronautics Defence and Space(EADS) has zeroed upon Quest, provider of outsourced engineering services and manufacturing, for its end-to-end solutions and services. The Bangalore based company, hence, asserts a notable position amongst the Indian aerospace players. The selection of the company, was subjected to serious scrutiny by a distinguished EADS panel for over two years, with over 2000 suppliers on the queue. Aravind Melligeri, Chairman, QuEST, says, "QuEST is uniquely positioned to support EADS, Airbus, Eurocopter and their Tier I and Tier II suppliers in their globalization initiatives through the EADS E2S preferred supplier award combined with QuEST’s end-to-end engineering services and manufacturing offerings, accredited best in class quality processes and a distinct roadmap for the future" The initiated setting of an aerospace supply chain eco-system in Quest's Special Economic Zone, worked as an advantage as it would come handy for EADS in sourcing fully finished aerospace components and subassemblies from India. Moreover, EADS also benefits from Quest's license to carry out export-controlled work in the US, in cases of any offset purposes. The entire process of making Quest first Indian private sector player qualified to offer end-to-end solutions to EADS, after being judged on various parameters, from capability to infrastructure. However, Quest has made into the EADS favour even before, when it achieved the EADS E2S preferred supplier status for engineering services.
