Drug Habits Turning Minors into Criminals


Other boys at the center have begun to set themselves free from their addiction. About 250 children have undergone the detoxification programme at the center. In which 35 boys over 18 years have been trained for laundry management, motor mechanics and cooking and have been placed in private companies.

The plan offered to juveniles who are kept at the center is a 90-day de-addiction plan for children in conflict with law.

Children in the residential facility not only undergo medical treatment but also get counseled from psychologists and psychiatrists. Among the recovered children many have stayed away from drugs for three to four years.

The country needs more facilities for the wayward children in order to shape them into responsible adults. Crime might have tagged them as criminals but it’s the cause of that led them  to commit crime that needs to be nipped, giving a chance for these naive children to find better direction in life.
