California:Facebook has temporarily withdrawn the permission given to the apps developers to track the most sensitive details such as someone's phone number and address exclusively with the permission of the users.
This is just a temporary arrangement made by the company. The company has promised a more refined way for people to understand clearly that they are giving permission to the apps developers to share their personal information out of their own interest.
The changes made were announced by Facebook silently last week through its developer blog. People are usually asked whether their personal information and photographs can be shared, when they are creating a Facebook account or when they are uploading something new to their account. When the change was implemented there was an unnoticed request asking whether the person would share their personal address and phone number.
Many were concerned about the change, as people might unknowingly or without a second thought might click on the option which may lead to serious issues, like the apps developers snatching the address and phone numbers.
There were even suggestions from various people on how to remove your personal details completely from the Facebook profile.
Implementing new changes and backtracking it when they receive complains from its users is not something new to the company. It has done it several times before.
