Dell launches new Alienware for less than $1,000
Las Vegas: Dell has unveiled a new 11-inch gaming notebook Alienware M11X at CES 2010, which the company says will be available for less than $1,000. Alienware series from Dell is known for its gaming performance and are usually priced around $1,700, according to Wired.com. The Alienware M11x demonstrates the graphics power of a 15-inch laptop in an 11-inch form factor. It provides HD 720p resolution with 1366 x 768 screen. Dell has not made the CPU powerful but instead has gone for an average Core 2 Duo processor. The trick here is that, users can switch NVIDIA GT35M graphic on or off. So for internal or non-gaming purposes like e-mail and other stuff, users have the power to switch to internal graphics hardware. MacBook Pro uses similar GPU-switching trick, but it requires users to logout. Alienware M11x on the other hand does not need users to restart their rig and can do the switching by just clicking a button.
