Dell introduces Latitude laptops with high battery back up

Bangalore: Dell, one among the major personal computer manufacturers, comes up with its new series of Latitude laptops, Latitude E6400 and E6500 and its ultra portable laptops including the Latitude E4200 and E430. The company claims that lightest ultra mobile commercial laptop, E6400 can provide 19 hours of battery life.
As E6400 runs for as much as 10 hours on a single nine-cell battery with an additional battery that snaps on to the bottom of the laptop which can add almost nine hours of battery life, the user can use laptop for a full day without the support of AC adapter to recharge the battery.
Moreover, E6400 has a 14.1-inch screen and runs an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. It has the capacity of 8GB of RAM and 250GB of storage. The system comes preloaded with Windows Vista, with an option to downgrade to Windows XP.
Jeff Clarke, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Dell said that the technology focuses on making components suck less power from the battery. "Dell needed to develop related software and work with component manufacturers to enable these capabilities," he added.
The price of E6400 is starting at $1,139 and Dell has also announced the price details of its next of its Latitude series E6500, laptop with larger screen and the price would be started at $1,169. According to the Dell sources the two models will be available in the market soon.
Apart from that, Dell's new ultra portable laptop E4200 is according to the company its smallest and lightest commercial laptop to date. The screen size of this lap is 12.1-inch and its weight is only just under 2.2 pounds (1 kg), where as its E4300 has a 13.3-inch screen and weighs 3.3 pounds. Both of these systems is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo ultra-low voltage (ULV) processors running between 1.40GHz and 2.40GHz. The price of these two models is yet to be revealed.
Additionally, Dell has also disclosed the details of its semi-rugged Latitude laptops which are expected to arrive soon. The sources said that the new models, E5400 and E5500 would come up with a variety of screen sizes and prices would be started at $839.
Dell's semi-rugged E6400 ATG laptop which is supposed to launch by next week and aims to meet the U.S. Army's standards to withstand dust and humidity. Its price will be started at $2,399.
The company has also said that the future ultra-mobile Latitude would provide Dell's On technology, with which users will be able to access the Web, e-mail messages and contacts without loading the operating system.
