Cyberoam ranks 'Positive' in Gartner's survey

Bangalore: Cyberoam, an India-based unified threat management (UTM) solution, has gained an edge over the other UTM products with Gartner declaring it to be 'promising' in its survey. While 20 active vendors exist in the market including popular brands like Cisco, Check Point and Secure Computing, this Elitecore Technology product was given the 'positive' thumb by the research organization. The "MarketScope for Multifunction Firewalls for Small and Midsize Businesses (SMB)" survey included technology Innovation, R&D, performance, meeting customer requirements in a timely manner, integration with other security products, management interface and clarity of reporting, as the various evaluating criteria. According to Hemal Patel, CEO of Elitecore Technologies, "We feel the rating is a validation to existing and prospective partners and customers regarding Cyberoam's capability in delivering added value over other solutions in this industry. This translates into ease of deployment and configuration as a result of Cyberoam's access controls based on user identity." Cyberoam has moved into 55 countries within a span of two years, including U.S., UK, France, Switzerland, Australia and more, displaying speed in execution. The multifunction firewall market, which stood at $1.2 billion in 2007, is expected to grow more by 35 percent to 40 percent compound annual growth rate by 2011. According to an IDC classification, UTM security appliances include multiple security features integrated into one box. These appliances are able to perform network firewalling, network intrusion detection and prevention, and gateway anti-virus.
