Bangalore: Critical Power Supplies, has launched a new range of power distribution units (PDUs) designed to efficiently distribute power within datacenter racks and provide IT managers with enhanced power management features.
Critical Power Supplies is a UK based supplier of power supplies and standby power protection systems. The new range of Sentry power distribution units are sold as individual power management products or as part of a wider power protection plan. The new PDU range consists of five separate series starting with a budget Basic range providing the functionality of a power strip. The next level is the Metered version which includes a built-in digital LED from which IT managers can see the true RMS current readings of the equipment powered via the PDU.
More sophisticated power management is provided by the next three series: Smart, Switched and POPS. The Smart PDU series is IP enabled allowing managers to access the PDU readings via an SNMP based database that can viewed using a Web browser. The Switched series allows IT managers to turn off and reboot selected PDUs as a group or individually. The POPS series provides the same features as the Smart and Switched series but with the facility to remotely monitoring and control individual power sockets within a PDU.
"Simplifying power protection and the management of UPS systems is what we do at Critical Power Supplies," commented Jason Koffler, Managing Director CPS. "We are involved in a number of power projects where we provide a single-source supply chain for power solutions. Adding the best power distribution units to our range of high efficiency UPS and standby power systems was a customer-driven solution that saves our clients time and money."
