CEOs who Earned more than their Companies Paid in Taxes
Jim McNerney, the CEO of Boeing that is the world's largest aerospace company and manufacturer of commercial jetliners and defense, space and security systems, earned $13.8 million in 2010 while the company paid $13 million in taxes to the federal government. McNerney earned $800,000 more than the company's federal tax liability. On the other side, the company spent $20.8 million on lobbying and campaign spending. McNerney is a graduate from New Trier High School and had attended Yale University where he received a B.A. degree. He began his career at Procter & Gamble in 1975 and later joined GE in 1982. There he help top executive positions including president and CEO of GE Aircraft Engines. In 2005, McNerney was hired as the Chairman, President and CEO of The Boeing Company.
