CBI Files Case in Virus Attack on T3 Security

NEW DELHI: CBI has registered a case in connection with the alleged virus attack on security systems at Terminal 3 of the IGI airport which almost shut down the operations about three months ago.
CBI sources said they suspect that a malicious software code was programmed to attack the Common Use Passengers Processing System (CUPPS) which controls the airline reservation system. While CBI suspects a cyber attack, the agency is yet to locate the source of the code as the investigations are at a preliminary stage, said sources.
The shutdown caused by this alleged hacking attempt brought down the CUPPS on June 29, 2011, resulting in collapse of all airline counters at T3.
The agency has registered the case under the IT Act against unknown persons.
