Car Rental Service Zoom Raises $215,000, All Thanks To Technology


Bangalore: Zoom, a car rental service based out of Bangalore, raised $215,000 in Angel Funding from Empire Angels, New York and an investor group based out of U.K led by Lady Barbara Judge.

Greg Morgan Co-founder and president of Zoom said that they will be expanding to south Bangalore By May or June and to Mumbai, Delhi, by end of the year. The other cities in the company’s expansion plan include Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune. The company presently owns 10 cabs, and the funding will be used to expand vehicle fleet, daily operation, building technology and hiring more employees, reports Medianama.

If the users opt to rent a Ford Figo, the company charges 199 per hour and 1999 per day and for Mahindra Scorpio it is 299 per hour and 2999 per day, inclusive of fuel cost and requires no deposit.

To book a cab, users are required to sign up on their website by uploading a scanned copy of their valid driver’s license, which will be verified during the pickup.
