90 crore) from the Federation Internationale de Football Association (Fifa) World Cup, which is going to start from June 11 in South Africa.
As a sponsor and official IT provider for both 2010 and 2014 editions of the FIFA world cup tournament, Satyam Computer Services is the first Indian company to sign with the world soccer body.
Besides onsite support from its Zurich facility, Satyam will offer value-in-kind from its Bangalore and Chennai centres. The company incorporated its sports division in 2007.
According to Sridhar Maturi, Global Head (sports marketing and communications), Mahindra Satyam, around 150 staffers and 15 from Zurich are working on the Fifa engagement, and during the event, all these associates will be stationed in South Africa.
Focusing on areas such as accreditation, transportation, volunteer management and space and material management, the company has developed event management solutions systems with various software modules.
Through these applications, the company will be managing 2,50,000 accreditations and manage 1,30,000 volunteers, besides distributing over three million tickets online, said Sridhar to Business Stadard.
