Bangalore: Infosys aims to achieve a targeted growth over the next 3-5 years by investing in new industries and geographies. It has planned a complete organization restructuring in the next 2 months to boost its profit margins.
Infosys Technologies, the second largest software provider in India, is on a grave hunt for acquisitions in Europe, Japan and in industries including healthcare and public services, told by the company's Chief Executive Officer, S Gopalakrishnan. Earlier Infosys has also entered into acquisitions in Europe. Infosys' deal with Philips gives Infosys a larger presence in Europe, a market where the company has been trying to increase its presence with new offices and a delivery center in Brno, in the Czech Republic. Infosys has also extended its arms in Japan for the last ten years but has not made any progress.
Infosys had announced changes in its top-level management and was also seeking acquisitions in new areas like cloud computing.
When required, Infosys would make acquisitions with an apt sector at the right price with the right strategic fit. Gopalakrishnan also said that the company does not want to keep targets for acquisitions as they are not making acquisitions for growth, instead acquisitions are carried on for strategic fit and adding capability at this point of time.
Gopalakrishnan also added that the company is looking at smaller acquisitions rather than larger ones.
The company is realigning its businesses into five global industry segments, financial services and insurance, manufacturing, energy, utilities, communications and services, public service practices, healthcare, retail and life sciences.
