Ranjana Kumar, former CEO Indian Bank:
Ranjana is the first woman CEO of nationalized bank. She took over the Indian bank, Chennai branch in the year 2000. She played a major role in increasing the revenue of loss making bank. Previously, she was the executive Director of Canara Bank, Bangalore. She started her career as a probationary officer in bank of India in the year 1966 later became the general manager. She caught the seat of senior vice president and chief executive of bank of India, supervising the New York based operations. Kumar, who made efforts in turning the below par Indian bank, is the first woman to lead NABARD in the year 2003. A present she is the vigilance commissioner in Central Vigilance Commission.
