6) Krishna G. Palepu –

Krishna G. Palepu is the Senior Associate Dean for International Development and Ross Graham Walker Professor of Business Administration at HBS. He is also the Senior Adviser for Global Strategy to the President of Harvard University. He teaches Accounting and Control Units pertaining to emerging markets in HBS. Palepu got his masters degree from Andhra University in Physics, a PG Diploma in Management from IIM (C), Ph.D. in Management from MIT Sloan School of Management, a Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an honorary doctorate from Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration. His field of research includes - corporate disclosure, corporate governance and emerging markets. He focuses on the globalization of emerging markets, especially our country and China, and proposes the opportunities and challenges faced by MNCs to work in these BRIC nations. He has also been on the editorial boards of reputed journals. He has also published various papers on corporate disclosure and mergers and acquisitions. ‘Winning in Emerging Markets’ was co-authored by Palepu and it demonstrates a practical structure for the development of emerging markets in terms of structural understanding. This structure talks about “institutional voids,” which need to be overcome in order to establish and sustain good business in emerging markets.  He has many of his articles published in reputed journals, such as - The Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Accounting Research, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Finance, Contemporary Accounting Research, Strategic Finance, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Harvard Business Review, Brown Journal of World Affairs and MIT Sloan Management Review. He co-authored ‘Business Analysis and Valuation Using Financial Statements: Text and Cases’, which is the most widely used book in B-schools in the U.S. This book has also been translated in Spanish, Japanese and Chinese.
