Hughes bags $12 Million orders from banks

Mumbai: Hughes Communications India, a provider of broadband satellite and managed network services, has bagged two contracts from public sector banks worth about $12 million (over
50 crore).
The first contract is from Allahabad Bank, valued at $9 million (about
40 crore), under which Hughes will provide broadband services connecting 1,400 locations, with satellite terminals, Hughes said in a statement.
The second contract, valued at $3 million (
12.5 crore), was awarded by the Central Bank of India to deploy a network of 1,955 satellite terminals, it added.
"Hughes is proud to have been chosen by the country's two leading public sector banks to provide comprehensive network services for their core banking solution (CBS) branches across the country," the Hughes Communications MD & CEO, Partho Banerjee, said.
The company provides satellite broadband solutions to more than 23 nationalized and private banks in India which includes State Bank of India, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank.
