Budget 2012: Segments Expected to Get a Hike

1,000 per day, A/C restaurants serving liquor, some category of hospitals, diagnostic tests. Service tax on air travel will increase by 50 for domestic travel and Rs 250 for international travel in economy class. On higher classes, it will be 10 percent flat.
The increase in excise duty and service tax from 10 percent to 12 percent will lay ground for GST (goods and service tax)12 percent next year. The increase of tax on beedis to half the rate on cigarettes will improve human health as well as fiscal health. The import duty on crude oil will be increased from 0 to 5 percent.
