BPO attrition slows down by 20 percent

Bangalore: The soaring trend of employees checking out of the BPOs, have seemed to lose its intensity, with the companies witnessing the attrition rate fall by 20 percent in the current scenario. The industry's revenue sucking phenomena has gradually loosened its grip with the attrition rate declining from 50 percent to 30 percent. As reported in Economic Times, Priya Chetty-Rajagopal, Vice-President, StantonChase International, says, "The BPO industry has reached a certain maturity and scale. Employees are now looking at building careers in the BPO industry." Apart from it the slowdown of the captive BPO growth through scaling down their operations or selling out their business. Thus, many of the companies have witnessed a drop in their attrition rate like for Wipro it has come down from 24 percent to 18 percent in the Q1FY09. IT services provider Satyam Computer has managed to bring down its attrition rate to 11.5 per cent during 2007-2008.
