Blake Krikorian joins initial investment round at BitGravity

Burlingame: BitGravity, a provider of next-generation Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) for interactive broadcasting, has announced that Blake Krikorian, Sling Media's co-founder and CEO has taken a seat on BitGravity's Board of Directors and joined other investors in BitGravity's initial funding. Founded in 2006, BitGravity launched the first affordable HD and Live CDN, and recently announced a strategic global partnership with Tata Communications.
"Blake transformed the way we watch TV with the invention of the Emmy award-winning Slingbox. He has been very successful enabling leading media players with new business models and innovative technology and continues to be at the center of the Internet media revolution," said Perry Wu, CEO and co-founder of BitGravity. Krikorian is co-founder and CEO of Sling Media, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EchoStar , a digital lifestyle company. A visionary leader whose company was named a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum, Krikorian sits on the board of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), received the Technology Leadership award by Broadcasting & Cable, was named one of the 25 most influential people in mobile technology (Laptop Magazine), was recognized as an innovator who has changed the face of travel in the 21st Century (Travel & Leisure) and named to Business 2.0's "50 Who Matter Now" and Forbes' "E-Gang" lists.
