Birlasoft acquires engineering services team from Avtec

New Delhi : IT services firm Birlasoft announced that it has acquired the engineering design services team of Avtec as part of its strategic move to provide engineering services consulting and outsourcing services. Earlier, Birlasoft had acquired similar talent from Hindustan Motors to enhance its onsite consulting and offshore development prowess.
Birlasoft CEO Arup Gupta said in a statement, "This strategic move comes from our conviction that the demand for engineering talent is growing globally. The Birlasoft team will play a significant role in opening up new windows of opportunity for India in this high value consulting and services segment and help move the country towards the next step in globalization."
Avtec is one of the independent makers of engines and transmissions to reputed OEMs like GM, Ford, Daimler, Mahindra and Mahindra, and Tata among others. The team acquired team comprises 35 people, which will be gradually increased.
