Bangalore: When a well-known company opens up to the public with its Initial Public Offering, investors start hoarding to get a piece of the company. Here are the biggest IPOs in the history of India, which have seen a huge turnout and have created few records too.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation

ONGC, oil, gas, natural, India, IPO, largestOil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) attracted 9500 crores in its Initial Public Offering in 2004, with a share price of 680-750 per share. The IPO saw Kotak Mahindra Capital being appointed as the lead book runner, along with DSP Merrill Lynch and JM Morgan Stanley. It held the record for being the largest IPO for a long time and had over 142.59 million shares sold through the book-building route. ONGC has reported revenue to the tune of 658.4 billion and is one of the largest publicly traded companies by market capitalization.
