Bangalore: Goggles, the visual recognition app from Google, has got a version update. The Google Goggles version 1.3 scans barcodes faster than before, recognize print ads in newspapers and magazines and wait till you hear it, can recognize Sudoku puzzles and solve them for you. Goggles now eases your shopping with faster barcode scanning. All you have to do is open Goggles and flit it over the barcode or QR code . The results come instantly without you having to press any buttons. If you tap on the result, it leads you to reviews of the products, check the availability and price comparison. The new version of Goggles recognizes print ads that appear in newspapers and magazines and throw up web search results about the product/brand. This is applicable to ads appearing since August 2010 onwards in U.S. And now comes the fun part. Goggles 1.3 makes you a Sudoku expert in no time. What you require to do is to take the entire picture of the puzzle with Goggles and it gives you the correct solution. Goggles was first released in December 2009 for Android phones. Its services were extended to the iOS platform in October 2010.
