Bangalore, The Most Preferred Startup Destination In India

Bangalore was placed one among the top 20 influential startup ecosystems around the world, according to a list produced by a global research firm Startup Genome in 2012. And this list was led by Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv, Los Angeles and Singapore, the only other Asian country apart from Bangalore.

Recently in August, a review in MIT’s Technology magazine placed Bangalore among the top eight largest technology innovation clusters around the world.

“The reason Bangalore has a great entrepreneurial ecosystem is because of these three key elements: access to great talent pool, access to investment capital and access to a large pool of early adopters”, says Mukund Mohan, CEO in-residence at Microsoft Ventures. “Bangalore has all three in good numbers. The city attracts good talent because of great weather, job options, and a cosmopolitan and welcoming culture. It has a great set of entrepreneurial talent, and there are many angel investors with experience to help guide a startup at the earliest stage”. Mohan’s venture is one among the biggest startup accelerators in the city which provides software tools, mentorship and access to innovative startups.
