BANGALORE: In line with its past performance, Software Technology Park of India, Bangalore is expecting about 35-40 percent growth in software exports during the current financial year, a senior official said.
"We are anticipating a growth of 35-40 percent growth this fiscal to about Rs 14,000 crore over the previous years' revenue" B V Naidu, director, Bangalore STPI said today.
The park had registered two billion dollar software exports revenue in the last fiscal.
In 2001-02, it achieved export revenue of Rs 9,622 crore in rupee terms. Like the last fiscal, the STP is expecting a growth in the IT-enabled services sector.
"We believe that in 2002-03, the contribution from ITES would rise to about 20 percent from eight per cent earlier," he said.
The park's optimism for the ITES sector is based on the increasing capacities for call centres, which have been undertaken, by HSBC, Sykes and Dell computers among others.
