200 Crore in CY 11 to fund expansion plans

Mumbai: Computer components manufacturer Asus India is planning an investment of over
200 crore in calendar year 2011 to fund its expansion plans, including its media player business, a senior company official said.
The Taiwan-based company, which caters to the assembled PC market in India, is also eyeing a 17 percent growth in revenue at around
600 crore in CY 11, Asus India Country Head (Component Business) Vinay Shetty told PTI here.
"We have established as a leading motherboard manufacturer in India. But now we plan to focus on the media player market which is an emerging segment in consumer electronics industry showing a promise of strong growth of around 60 percent year-on-year. We plan to invest around
200 crore to fund our expansion plans," he said.
