Are Indian CEOs Overpaid?

Bangalore: India's top-paid CEOs earn as well, if not better, than their counterparts in the US. reports Sanjit Oberai & R Jagannathan.
The 20 top earners among CEOs in India with the Top 20 in the Forbes list of highest-paid CEOs in the U.S. and found that our topdogs have nothing to complain about.
According to Forbes list, No 1 earner in the U.S. Ralph Lauren of Polo Ralph Lauren earned $20.8 million in 2010. Pawan Munjal of Hero Honda paid himself the equivalent of $17.7 million. Munjal, and his dad Brij Mohan, each earned
30 crore last year, which works out to over $6 million before adjusting for relative purchasing power.
Sunil Mittal, India's No 3 high paid CEO earns $13.5 million while the U.S. No 3, Leslie Moonves of media giant CBS earns $18.5 million.
The average purchasing power-based adjusted salary of the Top 20 Indian CEOs, at $9 million, is less than 25 percent withdrawn of the U.S. In fact, if one takes the sizes of the companies they manage, the U.S. CEOs could well think of themselves as underpaid.
For example, Sunil Mittal's $13.5 million comes from a company with $9.4 billion in revenues. AT&T's Randall Stephenson, who runs a company nearly 12 times his size ($125 billion), earns half his salary.
