Apple Is Coming Up With Large Screen Tablets And Smartphones

In tablets, Apple is still the dominant player, but its market shares fell to 39.6 percent in first quarter from 58.1 percent a year earlier, according to researcher IDC. On the other hand Samsung grabbed 17.9 percent of the tablet market, up from 11.3 percent a year earlier.

"In the long run, we will see touch screens in all sizes as the future vision of the technology industry is to offer the same user experience across all screens," said IDC analyst Helen Chiang. "The key is to bring down the cost and introduce compelling applications for large-screen devices."

Though Apple spokesperson declined to comment on the topic, earlier Reuters reported that Apple was investigating on larger screen sizes for its iPhone. The new sizes of Apple products may or may not help the company to reach its prior prime spot, but they are for sure larger than the present iPhones and iPads.
