Bangalore: Apple and Samsung have been in battle from months, an earlier ban on German sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 by the court in late August until its final ruling on September 9. While this injunction is only effected in Germany, Apple has been trying to get similar injunctions awarded all across the globe, including the United States, South Korea, and Australia. Samsung had planned to show the Galaxy Tab 7.7 along with other mobile devices at IFA electronic show at Berlin, but lost a chance to showcase its latest tablet computer after Apple won a second injunction blocking the tablet. The court ordered Samsung's South Korean office to stop selling of Galaxy Tab 7.7. Apple claims that the Galaxy Tab 7.7's design too closely mirrors that of the iPad. In addition, the customized version of the Android OS that is featured on the Galaxy Tab 7.7 almost directly copies the user interface of Apple's iOS, the company claims. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 is the latest addition to Samsung's range of Galaxy products. It was first unveiled at the show along with 5.3-inch Galaxy Note, which Samsung hopes to create a new product category with and fill the gap between Smartphone's and tablets. The product is not on sale yet but we have decided to respect the court order," Samsung spokesman James Chung said.
