Bangalore: A new add on launched in the Android Market is the integration of a 'related' tab. Google has kept the news of the tab, which helps in application and game discovery, very hush hush. It is available in few phones like Droid X and Evo 4G running Android 2.2 (Froyo) and is currently limited to the U.S. market. The 'related' tab can be found on the About page of an app. The tab helps you discover apps related to the title that you're currently viewing. The 'related' tab is also called 'similar' tab depending on the carrier or the handset. The new app discovery tab is another move from Google toward enhancing the Android market experience. Only last month, there were changes introduced like YouTube videos, recent change logs, and content ratings. Once the Android 2.3 operating system (Gingerbread) is launched, expected in the coming weeks, the redesigned Market will boost the OS in more than one ways. As the launch of Related tab was a quiet affair, it is not known exactly which version of Android does it run on. However, going by recent trends by Google, it is most likely to run on Android 2.2 or higher. The new app suggestion feature from Google will likely boost sales of apps as people will easily be able to find apps that interest them, spurring them to buy the app.
