Android Is Fast-Earning Respect Of Developers

Google Steps-up Efforts:

Google has stepped up its efforts to make its apps more exciting and defining feature on Android devices. Google re-branded its app store as Google Play, with niftier appeal, having the selections of app spanning across music, movies, games, and other apps all within same storefront. Google Play is now on par with App Store, has 700,000 apps and counting.

Google has also expanded number of the countries where developers can monetize their apps, and partnered with local wireless carriers to let consumers be charged directly from their cell phone accounts for app purchases. "You just need to make it as easy as possible for consumers to purchase that content," said Carolina Milanesi, an analyst with industry research firm Gartner.

Adding to it Google is hosting exclusive Android based apps like Tap Dragon Park game developed by Pocket Gem. The monetization was lower than it likely would have been on iOS, said the COO of Pocket Gem, but it was still a commercial success.
