All About Apple's Latest iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C
TouchID
TouchID is an innovative feature introduced specifically for iPhone 5S. The device’s home button has been infused with a fingerprint scanner, a high security feature to unlock the iPhone. The home button is made of a laser-cut sapphire crystal which provides scratch resistance. The steel ring around it has capacitive touch sensor made of 170 microns with 500ppi resolution. It scans the epidermal layer of the skin and analyses the fingerprint by categorizing it based on three shapes; arch, loop or whorl.
All the fingerprint information is encrypted and stored in the A7 chip and is accessible only by TouchID sensor. Thus it can be safely used with iTunes to purchase music, movies, TV shows and other apps.
Setting up TouchID is easy, and the more its used, better it gets at recognizing unique fingerprint.
A7 processor
This new powerhouse of iPhone 5S claims to be twice as fast as its previous version. The A7 chipset is built on a 64-bit architecture with a capacity to deliver insane amount of speed and power in terms of CPU and graphic performance.
It also includes a M7 motion coprocessor which gathers data from the accelerometer, gyroscope and compass in order to improve the phone’s CoreMotion Functionality to support better fitness and activity apps.
