Bangalore: Airtel, an Indian mobile service provider announced the introduction of Voice SMS for its customers in Karnataka, a yet another value added service. Simple and easy to use, the service opens up an exciting new way to connect with near and dear ones. The service works on all handsets, creating a new mode of communication for all Airtel users, in addition to the conventional text message service.
Voice SMS is a personalized voice message service that enables users to send message in their own voice and in the language of their choice. The service is based on the 'talk and listen' messaging format like the 'type and read' text message service provided by SMS.
Now with Voice SMS all Airtel customers in Karnataka can send messages to any mobile in Kannada, Hindi and English.
The service is easy to use and, compared to SMS, adds an emotional dimension to messaging. Airtel customers on receiving a Voice SMS can hear it free of cost. The Voice SMS can be stored in the archives too.
