A theft is a theft no matter what you are stealing and who you are, more so when it is the theft of an intellectual property. That itself makes the rip-offs or unofficial remakes of movies pathetic. Still, the thieves can show some justice to the movies that they are ripping off by making it into a good movie. Perfect example will be Chak De India and Hum Tum, even though copied from Hollywood movies they were well directed, casted and acted, and ended up being really good movies. But there are another set of copy cats that take the original content and turn it into a pathetic excuse for a movie. Movies that make the people, who spend money on tickets for it, feel violated. Agreed, it is hard to come up with an original story that standsout, but, when there is already a well made product on your table, can't you just write a reasonably good script based on it? Let us go through some such Bollywood movies. Can't help but say it is a crime to make movies like these. 10. Ugly Aur Pagli
This 2008 Hindi movie directed by Sachin Khot and produced by Pritish Nandy, is a rip-off of the 2001 Korean movie My Sassy Girl. The lead roles that were immortalized by Cha Tae-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun in the original were portrayed by Ranvir Shorey and Mallika Sherawat in this mediocre unofficial remake. The movie is subpar in all departments including acting, directing, and rewriting, even when not compared to the original. The worst part of the movie was Mallika Sherawat and her atrocities in the name of acting.
