London: Percy Pigs

Originally a penny candy, Percy Pigs debuted around World War I. They are made with pork gelatin, and then decorated with a smiling piggy face. These candies recently got a shout-out from British Vogue for being fashionable.  The grape - and raspberry-flavored treats will remind you of gummy bears (which, mercifully, don’t contain “bear gelatin”). Don’t be fooled by piggy knockoffs rooting Canada and Europe, and “petit cochons” in France. True Percy Pigs can only be bought at department store Marks & Spencer, starting at less than $1 a bag. The beloved M&S also carries Percy Pig linens, Advent calendars, and (occasionally) oinking mugs.
