The submerged caves of the Diepolder systems are among the most unique discovered within the Western Hemisphere. Diepolder II is the deepest cave in the continental U.S. It is about 250 feet (76 meters) below the Earth's surface. Diepolder II and Diepolder III are located on the Sand Hill Ranch Scout Reservation in Florida. They are also among the world's most dangerous sites, and strict regulations have been set forth for exploring the underwater caves as the site has passages deep within the water.
