In a statement here Tuesday, the IT bellwether said the company was chosen for the Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) award by a panel of Fortune 500 executives and management experts and ranked first in the IT sector in creating an environment for collaborative knowledge.

Teleos study recognises global organisations for creating shareholder wealth by transforming enterprise knowledge and intellectual capital into superior products, services and solutions.

"The award winners transform organisational knowledge into wealth-creating ideas, products and solutions. They are building portfolios of intellectual capital to out-perform their global competitors.

Wipro Technologies has emerged as a leading knowledge-driven organization. If the software major maintains the momentum and focus, it could be on its way to being 'a global top five' in its business sector over the next three years," Teleos managing director Rory Chase stated.

The award was presented to Wipro at the World Knowledge Forum, held in Seoul, South Korea, recently.

Commenting on the award, Wipro Technologies chief quality officer Sambuddha Deb said in a knowledge intensive business like IT, effective knowledge management was a significant differentiator, especially when enterprises expand their presence across geographies.
