New Delhi: The Videocon group is planning to set up a 1,000 MW hydropower plant in Uttarakhand, a top company official said here Thursday. "The project will be started with an investment of 60 billion ($1.4 billion). The company is looking out for potential partners and planning to rope in a US company for this purpose. However, the investment can go up," Videocon group chairman Venugopal N. Dhoot said. He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a business meeting organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham). Asked on the commissioning of the project, Dhoot said: "Just wait for further developments. We are talking to many partners in the US. If anything is finalised, we will divulge the details.”
