Kolkata: Three firms from a U.S trade mission visiting India this month will come to West Bengal to assess the business potential here, a U.S official said today. The mission, with 200 companies, will be in India between Nov 29 and Dec 5, said principal commercial officer of the US Consul General-Kolkata Alleen Crowe Nandi here on the sidelines of an interactive session with the Calcutta Chamber of Commerce. She said 70 firms would tour six cities to study the business potential in different sectors but though Kolkata is one of the six, only three companies would visit the city. The three companies coming to Kolkata are in the small and medium enterprises (SME) segment. They are mostly from dental equipment and high temperature ceramic sectors, Nandi added. She said the consulate would try to attract more US companies in agriculture, mining, healthcare, power, energy and travel and tourism sectors to the eastern part of the country.
