PUNE: Customer management outservices company Ventura has begun its Indian operations in Pune. The new company is part of Ventura UK and would be known as Ventura (India) Private Ltd. Ventura is a wholly owned subsidiary of NEXT Plc. This is the first offshore centre outside the UK. Anupam Arun, Country Head, told presspersons that the company had set up its 1,30,000 sq ft area office in Kalyani Nagar, an upcoming IT hub in the city. Ventura has invested £10 million in the Indian operations. Arun said currently, the company had over 300 employees to service a couple of clients. By March 2006, it was looking at ramping up the employee strength to 1,000 and to 2,000 by March 2007. He said the company expected about 20 per cent of Ventura's business to come from the Indian operations. Ventura's total turnover for the fiscal 2004 was £131 million as against £112 million in 2003, an increase of 17.7 percent. To begin with, the company would offshore business in the travel and leisure sectors.
