Tricom India to acquire US-based IT company

MUMBAI: Tricom India Ltd, an IT-enabled services company, is to acquire the US-based Tricom Document Management Inc to strengthen its business presence in North America.
TIL would acquire the US-based company in the current quarter, for which all the legal formalities are in place, its managing director Chetan Kothari said in a release on Saturday.

The US-based company would function as TIL's marketing arm, Kothari said.

Tricom India has acquired additional 5,000 square feet in Mumbai to enhance seating capacity to 13,000 seats. This would enhance capability to service clients in US, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia, it said.

For the first quarter ended June 2004, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 93.28 lakh (Rs 59.63 lakh in Q1 of 2003-04) and income of Rs 3.32 crore (Rs 1.98 crore) respectively, it added
